Bridging the gap between
humans and nature

Imagined in Montreal in 2016, BESIDE was born from the desire to create a brand with global influence at the crossroads of nature and culture. The project has grown tenfold, offering an atypical offer: BESIDE has in fact developed expertise in publishing and hospitality in nature.

Via our BESIDE Media division, we publish a printed magazine, digital content and organize events which, in the city and in the forest, encourage us to live better on a daily basis and to build a more united world. We don't have the answers, but we are experimenting with our questions. More than a brand, BESIDE is a community of people from all backgrounds — architects, artists, journalists, biologists, photographers, etc. — who share common aspirations. We deeply believe in human-to-human exchanges and in the great ideas that are born around a campfire.

Our purpose

Our objective is to promote connection to nature through culture, the transmission of knowledge and reflection on our ways of inhabiting the world and anchoring ourselves in our environment.

The desire to relay stories, ideas, skills, know-how and experiences at the intersection of nature and culture to build a more meaningful life for each of us, our families and our communities.

We we commit to making a concrete difference for the preservation of the territory — by asking ourselves how we can better anchor ourselves there and by protecting areas of high environmental value such as lakes, wetlands and ancient forests which are home to great biodiversity — and to contribute to building a more sustainable future.
