Canoe-camping & portage

August 24 to 26, 2018

Come paddle and learn how to portage your canoe, during this canoe-camping adventure on a chain of magnificent lakes. During your weekend, you will help prepare the expedition, the food and the luggage, you will learn how to read topographic maps, to paddle with various techniques and to walk with your house on your back! You will also learn the basis of the Leave No Trace ideology, as well as some techniques for cooking on the campfire! A weekend where only portagers can go!

SCHEDULE (approx.)


3 PM – Welcoming of participants
3:30 PM – Greetings and equipment preparation
4:30-5:30 PM – Canoeing class
5:30 PM – Departure aboard the canoe
7 PM – Arrival at campsite and setup
8 PM – Cooking on fire, dinner and campfire


7 AM – Wake up and take-down
8 AM – Breakfast
9:30 AM – Portage techniques
10:30 AM – Departure
11 AM – Snack break
12:30 PM – Lunch
1:30 PM – Departure
5:30 PM – Arrival at campsite and setup
7:00 PM – Dinner
8:30 PM – Campfire
