The Real Truth About “Van Life”

June 15

The bohemian “van life” movement is picking up steam. While many of us work 50 hours per week in front of computers, we enviously watch these couples in their quest for freedom as they scroll by on our Instagram feeds. But behind the perfect shots and the promise of the simple life hide sizeable issues and paradoxes. Dominic Faucher and Mariepier Bastien made the jump a few years ago and carried out their big project, which involved converting a van with their own hands and then setting off on great adventures. Thanks to their story, told with humour and self-deprecation, they show the often hidden truth behind “van life.”
